INFORMAL TEAMS

A country may be represented in the World Evaluation Case Competition by only one team. When more than one team registers to represent a country, the the country’s official team is selected according to specific criteria. The others teams are invited to participate informally.

An informal team has the same experience as the team that represents its country with one difference. Its submission on the case is not sent to the international panel of judges for review, rating and preparation of feedback.

Informal trams are encouraged to get feedback on their submission from a local expert in program evaluation, such as a team coach, who would assess it using the same form as the international panel. The informal team would provide the local expert with their submission and the evaluation case with a link to the assessment criteria.

When a team has not been selected to represent their country, the team is asked whether or not it wishes to participate informally. Organizers understand that some teams prefer to withdraw after learning that they will not represent their country in the competition.
