Guide to the Registration Form

Country the team seeks to represent: You may choose to represent a country if either of the following conditions are met:

  • The majority of team members are studying in the country

  • The majority of team members are citizens of the country. This includes citizens who are studying in universities or colleges outside the country.

If neither of the conditions apply, explain your choice of country in an email to the organizers at worldcasecomp@gmail.com

Language used by the team: This is the language that the team members use to communicate with each other and their coach. If your team’s working language is not English, the team will have additional time to prepare its submission on the case.

Name of the team (proposed): This is the name that will be used in the team’s submission. The team’s name must not allow the judges to guess the name of the team’s country. If it does, the competition organizers will ask the team to provide a different name.

Contact person: The first team member listed on the registration form is the team’s contact person. They will be responsible for communicating with WECC on the team’s behalf. The day before the competition, the contact person will receive a link to the case. On the day of the competition they will download the case once the team has assembled and is ready to start. They will upload the team’s submission using the same link and will also send two emails to WECC organizers: one with photos of the team at work on the submission and one with a back-up copy of the team’s submission.

Email addresses: WECC prefers that members of the student team provide personal rather than university email addresses. University addresses are often deleted after graduation.

Program, Degree and Institution: WECC wants confirmation that each team member was a student at some time during the year of the competition. If the team member completed a program this year but is not currently registered, provide data on the completed program. If the team member is currently registered as student, provide data on the current program.

Evaluation-related courses and months of practical experience * : Team members are not required to have trained in program evaluation or to have had practical experience in the area. The data that team members provide on evaluation-related courses and practical experience is referenced by the organizers only when more than one team has registered to represent a given country. The organizers consider each team’s overall evaluation training and experience when deciding which one will participate in the the world competition.

Narrative * : The team should provide three reasons why it should be chosen to represent its country. If more than one team registers from a given country, the organizers will consider the narrative arguments when selecting the country team.

 * The narrative is not required of teams that have won a national competition.
