VOLUNTEERING AS A WECC JUDGE

Thank you for your interest in judging the submissions from student teams in the World Evaluation Case Competition (WECC).

 Required Experience

  • At least six years in program or policy evaluation

  • Familiarity with a variety of program mechanisms and subject areas

  • Hands-on development of evaluation plans including logic models and evaluation matrices

  • Direct use of a wide variety of data collection techniques. 

Responsibilities of a Judge

  • Before the competition, study the case and become familiar with the tasks expected of the student teams

  • After the competition, read the submissions from four or five of the teams and rate them using a bench-marked scale provided by WECC

  • Prepare feedback on each team's submission, indicating its strengths and discussing areas that needed further development.

Timing

  • The competition will be held in early November

  • Judges are expected to deliver their ratings and feedback within 12 days of receiving their assigned submissions

  • Members of the judging panel should be prepared to commit around eight (8) hours to the review process.
